1. When Scout looked under her bed she found Dill. He was hiding in the Finch's because he ran away from his home. He ran away because he dislike his new life style now that he had a new father. Dill felt unwanted and left out.

2. Jem is considered a traitor because now that he is older he feels like he must show the world, especially his father that he is a mature young man. This is unliked by Scout because Jem really doesn't want anything to do with her, and refuses to play with like he use to. He is also considered maturing beacuse according to Scout he is very hard to live with because he is always moody and telling her what to do, as if he was an adult. He is also caught readign the newspaper , when he has the option to be hanging with Scout. This greatly missed by Scout even though she does not admit it.

2: Jem is considered a traitor because he told Atticus about Dill running away from home. This was against the code of secrecy Jem, Dill, and Scout had when they played together in the summer.

However, Jem is also learning and considering the potential consequences of one's actions, and Dill's hasty retreat may have gotten his mother worried about him. Or worse yet, Dill may have gotten lost, or kidnapped, and nobody would know how to find him because Dill never told his family where he was going. Jem is maturing due to his more proactive approach to situations.

Jem is considered a traitor because he, against all past secrecy between Jem, Dill, and Scout, told Atticus what Dill done.

He is also considered a maturing, more responsible young man because he is more prone to making decisions to help others, rather than getting them out of trouble. Scout considers him maturing because she catches him reading newspapers, being moody, and not playing with her, which Scout doesn't particularly like.

1) Scout finds Dill hiding under her bed. This comes as a shock as Dill is supposed to be in Meridian enjoying time with his mother and his new father. However Dills felt neglected. His parents thought Dill would be content with alot of toys, so they bought him many things and then left him to himself. Without the love or care of his parents, Dill felt lonely and unwanted, so he ran away to Maycomb where his friends were.

2) Jem is a traitor for telling Atticus that Dill was there. In doing so, he has broken the unwritten childhood rule of never telling tales. However this proves that Jem is mature and grown up. He forfeited Dill's trust, even though he knew he would incur Dill's wrath, because he felt it was the right things to do. He knew it was irresponsible to allow Mrs Harris to worry, as she would once she realised Dill was gone. Jem made the adult decision to do what is right rather than what is popular which shows how mature he is.
